Happy spring! According to the calendar, anyway. It's gray and drizzly!
I have strong feelings against cake mix. But sometimes I am wrong. This weekend Jeff and I made brownies from a box at his house (and when I say we, I mean he). The brownies were yummy! And nonfat. No fat! You just add yogurt to the mix and bake. I am intrigued. No Pudge brownie mix from Trader Joe's.
Still, I think I will stick to baking from scratch, for the most part. Tonight I am planning to make superfat pistachio-apricot oatmeal cookies from Orangette. There are so many Orangette recipes I want to try, especially after the success of the chickpea salad and the choccie-ginger-banana-walnut bread I made this weekend. The best part was my loaf pan was a tad small for the quantity of batter, so I used the leftover bits for a few muffins!
