That's right. I finished them. By myself. In less than a week. I am not buying any more Girl Scout cookies...not this year, anyway.
The other night I used up leftover buttermilk to make thyme drop biscuits from the January issue of Everyday Food...very quick and yummy! I am quite pleased with my decision to subscribe. In other food news, this week's Chronicle Food section featured local food blogs, as well as this bit about Chocolate & Zucchini, where I first read about the Epiphany tradition of the Galette des Rois...mm...locally available (in January) at Bay Bread Boulangerie, though one piece was not nearly big enough for Dan and me to sample. Next time: a whole galette. Plus, what's not to like about a dessert that gives you a chance to be queen for the day?
